Jay Ma

Medicine Spirit Facilitator & Ceremonial Guide

Jay Ma is one of our primary Medicine Spirit guides. He offers a grounded presence and skilled facilitation shaped by a rich blend of Western, Eastern, and Indigenous wisdom traditions. With decades of experience in sacred plant medicines, the Red Road Ways, yogic practices, permaculture, and community building, Jay brings deep knowledge along with heartfelt dedication to Iboga ceremonies.

For over 20 years, Jay has organized and facilitated transformational retreats, educational programs, and larger community gatherings in the United States and abroad. And Jay is passionate about renewing Rites of Passage programs such as vision quests, fire walks, medicine journeys, and deep nature connection immersions. These experiences have become a central part of his work in guiding others toward growth and healing.

Jay’s own path was forever changed by a life-changing journey with Iboga. This experience deepened his connection to the Medicine and its profound healing potential. Over time, he participated in many ceremonies, served as an assistant, and eventually became a guide. In 2024, he traveled to Gabon, West Africa—the ancestral home of Iboga—and was initiated into the Missoko Bwiti Tradition. Furthermore, Jay returned in 2025 for additional initiations and Rites of Passage within the tradition.

As a catalyst for transformational change, Jay is committed to fostering both personal and community healing. Therefore, his  goal is to help create thriving and sustainable human settlements that live in harmony with nature. Finally, Jay Ma also stewards a small farm and micro-community, where he is building a hub for regenerative agriculture, community connection, and green business—certainely one that is thriving and ecologically regenerative, while socially responsible.

Scott Kloos is one of our primary Medicine Spirit guides. He brings a rich blend of ceremonial leadership, plant wisdom, and ecological vision. Carmen Joy King

Writer, Facilitator & Integration Specialist

In 2023, Carmen’s life was profoundly transformed through her own Iboga journey. What began as personal exploration evolved into a complete reconfiguration of her relationship with love. This included the release of long-held addiction patterns, and a renewed sense of creative purpose. Following what she calls a “defragmentation” of her mind, she completed her memoir, Don’t Yell at Her!—which is now on its path to publication.

After her initial flood dose, Carmen returned to sit with Iboga multiple times. Each journey deepening her connection to her authentic self. Her natural transition from participant to facilitator began as Carmen assisted in retreats. It was here that she learned to hold space with compassion and presence while others navigated their own profound inner landscapes.

At Medicine Spirit retreats, Carmen draws upon her lived experience of deep transformation, in order to help participants bridge their ceremonial insights with everyday integration. She offers a grounded, nurturing presence and guides others to recognize the patterns shaping their lives, while supporting the emergence of new ways of being.

Carmen believes in the innate wisdom of every soul. She creates a safe and sacred container where individuals can reconnect with their true essence. This includes freedom from entrenched patterns toward improved clarity. Carmen facilitates a deepening of spiritual connection. And for her, it is a profound honour to witness and support each person’s unique journey with Iboga.
